Since the introduction of Driver CPC in 2009, the combined network of The National Logistics Academy has delivered training to some 150,000 drivers (circa 5% of the UK market), making us a clear market leader.
We have adopted a totally unique approach to delivering Driver CPC based on facilitated learning that is led by the drivers themselves. This achieves enhanced participation, interaction, understanding, and learning.
The courses are focused on “a day in the life of a professional LGV driver”. We have dispensed with boring slide shows and instead use a series of videos, activities, tasks, and quizzes.
Virtual learning experience
Virtual delivery compromises of tutor-led webinars, group discussions and online tasks to complete the periodic training. The training is delivered interactively through a range of interactive video sessions and practical learning materials, this provides the learner with a meaningful learning experience and an opportunity to learn from others to apply the knowledge to real-life scenarios.
Each course is structured around a typical driver’s day: depot activities, deliveries, collections and end of shift de-brief. Our facilitator outlines a scenario and steers the drivers to draw on their personal knowledge and experiences as a professional LGV driver to identify and reflect on the issues presented.
When we are teaching experienced drivers we want to make sure that they all learn something new and complete the course feeling that they had gained some real professional benefit from attending.
We also offer Driver CPC courses for new and returning drivers that are more knowledge-based and can be linked to a BTEC qualification.
Where a driver needs an ADR qualification we can deliver this as a JAUPT approved course.
Our unique JAUPT approved Driver CPC periodic training comprises the following 7-hour courses:
