Due to COVID-19 there has been a drastic change to MOT testing across the UK. All cars, motorcycles and vans that are due their MOTs after the 30th of March will have their current MOT extended by 6 months.
This measure has been put in-place to ensure that people do not leave the house unless it is for essential shopping or essential work.
However this means road users have the responsibility to ensure their vehicle is still roadworthy over this uncertain time.
But what does this mean for garages?
There has been guidance recently for business to remain closed, however garages can remain open.
Despite MOT test being a big chunk of work for garages, this guidance although could be seen as a hinderance to garages, it frees them up for all critical repairs to vehicles of key workers and the essential services.
