What apprentices will learn
The apprenticeship in Traffic Office is aimed at employees with duties that may involve dealing with customer enquiries, filing of information (electronic and paper), issuing vehicle keys and load details, pre/post journey reports/checks, admin of defect reporting systems and overall ensuring the movement of goods by road, rail, sea or air is correctly scheduled and routed. This qualification can provide a progression route for drivers who are coming off the road but wish to remain in the sector.
This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace. The apprentice gains the knowledge, skills and experience for working in a senior traffic office role.
The apprenticeship training is tailored to the needs of the individual employer and is delivered by highly qualified and technically competent training advisors. The programme is a blended combination of on the job tuition and assessment plus e-learning content and professional discussions.
Additional training may be included such as short courses in dangerous goods awareness and emergency First Aid at work as appropriate.
